• DNA and Genealogy This is an excellent discussion of DNA as it relates to Genealogy. It is written by Stephen Moore from a genealogy perspective not real detailed scientific discussion. Very good and very understandable.

This is a list of some of the Club Web Sites in California and near by locations. Many of them have additional Links to valuable Genealogy information.

• California Genealogy Society - Whether you have Gold Rush ancestors or have no family connection to California, you will find extensive support for your genealogy research at the California Genealogical Society (CGS).


• California Genealogy Society Directory - This is a list of many f the Genealogy Societies in California by county.


• Sacramento California Family History Center - The Sacramento Family History Center also known as both the Sacramento Regional Family History Center and the Sacramento California Large Multi-stake Family History Center. The Center has over 90 well trained volunteers to help the more than 14,000 patrons who visit the Center annually.


• Butte County Genealogy - Nestled in the foothills of northern California, the Paradise Genealogical Society was started in 1968 by a dedicated group of volunteers. Motivated by a love of history, they collected books, newspaper articles, maps and photographs of Butte County. 


• Placer County Genealogical Society - Located in the foothills east of Sacramento, this group has meeting and research information available.


• Contra Costa County Genealogical Society - This is a non profit organization for people that have an interest in genealogy.  Whether you are an expert or are just beginning to question who your great grandparents were we have something for everyone.
    
• Livermore-Amador Genealogical Society -This society serves the cities of Livermore, Pleasanton and Dublin and surrounding areas in the Livermore and Amador Valleys of southeastern Alameda County, in the beautiful San Francisco Bay Area of California. They offer online access to local cemetery records, a local history book, the 1870/1880 census for Murray Township of Alameda County.


• Roseville Genealogical Society - Located near Sacramento, this group has meeting, surnames list a and research information available.


• Sacramento Genealogical Society - Founded in 1978 when members found a common interest in the gathering and sharing of genealogical information. The goal has been to help our members with genealogical research through education, the publication of information, and the preservation of records.


• San Mateo County Genealogical Society - Located just south of San Francisco, this society has a newsletter and sponsors trips to some of the local research libraries.


• Clark County NevadaGenealogical Society - The Clark County Nevada Genealogical Society (CCNGS) is a non-profit organization. Some of the objectives are: to furnish aid in genealogical research, to preserve Nevada/Clark County/Las Vegas records, to stimulate interest and provide education of members and others in genealogy and to acquire materials and publications which are of genealogical value for the use of members and others. 


• Jackson County Oregon Genealogical Library - Located in the Rogue River Valley in Southern Oregon and is operated by the Rogue Valley Genealogical Society--a not-for-profit institution.


• Grants Pass Oregon Genealogical Society - Extended membership in the Grants Pass Genealogical Society to anyone who has a common interest in researching their family history and wants to continue learning and sharing new methods of research.
